thanks Cooper.

I was somewhat hesitant to make a command script yet, but now that I'm watching that video I'm pretty much loving it. :D If only I enjoyed coding projects for university as much as I enjoy coding with HSL :P

Excellent tutorial!
I already did that using the information from the wiki but looking at it I still got a few more hints and tips like the search trough all the client/server scripts and the functions and methods feature.

It would be perfect if you could cover more complicated things.

Thanks for taking the time to create this Christopher.
I hope to see more. Possibly some advanced subjects?

We provide a week long training course for source code licensees. Last month we filmed that course to provide it to HeroCloud devs. We are editing them together now. They cover a wide range of aspects of the engine, but do not dive super deep into some specific aspect of game systems, so don't get your hopes too high, but stay tuned.

Even without super deep diving into game-specific mechanics and systems, it's still a nice help to for all the developers here. Something to get people started :)

Can any source licensees comment of the content that was provided to them during this right now? Assuming it was basically the wiki all mapped together in a nice presentation! Cant wait.

I'd say it's the first 10% of all aspects of the engine. There's another 3 Bennett is cleaning up right now and getting ready for publish.

Added some new data storage videos.

The videos are well done. Though its hard to see the light grey color on the screen for the many scripts. Anyway to change color for the vids?

Add:
I found a way on the editor we use (tools->syntax highlighting editor->identifier), but it would help to have it in the videos that way too.

add:
To see the videos, I had to turn the contrast way down on my monitor. I can now see these videos, but everything else now looks very dark.

Anyway I can get HE to put downloadable copies of the videos somewhere? For me the Spec system 3-5 cannot be streamed in 720p (Making it difficult to read and actually see what is going on).

I tried downloading the files from Youtube but those are not working and are only downloading in the 20kb range instead of the 200+mb range they should be (Videos 1 and 2 work flawlessly for me).

Really want to progress with the spec system and these videos would probably help tremendously with getting the flow and process going.

I can verify that all the videos are available at 720p, and are streaming correctly from youtube. I would try a different browser if you're having problems. Chrome and Firefox also have some easy plugins to automatically pull video from Youtube.

FWIW, I use Ant Video Downloader on Firefox to get videos, including on YouTube:
http://www.ant.com/video-downloader

Unfortunately, since Google owns YouTube, they do not allow any Chrome Extensions to download from YouTube.

Can you verify that #3 is streaming 720p beyond 2 minutes? I can download up to the first 2 minutes at 720p - beyond that its nothing.

The reason is that is the video I am having the trouble with -  It streams for the first 2 minutes and I can download the first 2.

I just started downloading the 720 version of spec #3.  It says it will be 204 MB.  Did you get all of it?

Just tried again - Seems to be working now (We tested it prior with a couple different people in different locations of the world and it wasn't working).

Not sure if someone did something - but its working(Downloading everything) as of this moment.

Yep, once I got all 204 MB it plays fine.

the DOM is located under the HeroScript tab on top of editor. There are 2 DOMs, client and server at bottom of list.

Good day,
You can find the DOM under HeroScript. See the image:
