Upon alpha/beta release, you will be given access to this. Not sooner.

We don't host your website, but we do provide external authentication against the the HeroCloud account database to games at the alpha stage.

Can I offer a hosting solution?

My friends and I have a shared hosting + other solutions company. We would not mind at all providing shared hosting plans to fellow game designers.

Hello Cooper, semi new around here so don't mind some of my lack of knowledge, but...

What is the method/process of Authentication that is available so I can strategically plan out some project management around the web server/design/structure?

Thanks,
Fred

We provide you all of that information, which is subject to change, and frequently does, when your game reaches the alpha stage.

Cooper,

I don't see how you consider that to be an acceptable response to my query. Being as this is one of the first conversations that I've interacted with on the forums, I'd rather not lead it into a bad direction.

I've browsed your forums, reviewing your responses to similar questions and I can understand some of your reasoning behind why you will not provide entire details about who this process is performed.

Though, we are a business, we need to make intelligent decisions on project directions in order to work in a sufficient manner and leverage our employee's strengths as best as possible. While holding this information back and neglecting to provide such basic information on your bridging/authentication process hinders the ability to use our resources in the best possible manner.

So I request that you at the very least provide the basic information, so your clients/customers can go in the right direction so we are not wasting valuable time and money on something that may need to be changed once in "Alpha". You as a business person should understand why this is valuable information.

Thanks,
Fred

It's an authenticated, RESTful, JSON-based service interface, and you're provided with specific key that allows access

Herb,

I do appreciate you taking the time to respond, this method can work some modifications in the directions we are planning, just have to create a simple plugin for the CMS but that shouldn't be a huge issue.

Do you have any other clients using per say, Joomla!,WordPress, Drupal, etc... passing authentication from their web server to the game servers right now?

Thanks for you time,
Fred

I don't ask what people are implementing on their end.  However, this site uses a custom PHP authenticator to authenticate everyone's credentials against the developer user database - which is slightly different from the public services interface, but for all intent and purposes acts the same way.

So, yes; it's made to be used that way.
