Post by: ExileThomas on Dec 22, 16, 09:33:45 AM
hey all

trying to add a parent class in the dom editor (guiMovePanel). whenever i try to save im getting "Bad Dom command - cant's describe %| %|" and its not saving. not really sure what is causeing this or how to go about fixing it, does anyone have any ideas?

i can add new fields to the class just cant add a parent class and i have tried refreshing, restarting the computer/client and tried on a different computer/internet network.

Thanks

Hi Thomas,

I won't go into details of the root cause of this, but its being fixed.

If the "search" field for enums/fields/classes etc (any category panel) has anything you've typed into it,  clear it before doing anything to your classes/fields, or it will error out usually.

this is included in the upcoming fixes.

Attached is a pic of what im talking about.  the circled area should be "cleared" for every category panel (enum/fields/classes etc)

In more detail,

If you are adding or removing a class, make sure the class search area is clear OR have that class in the search area. With a field, when adding or removing a field from a class, make sure the field search area is clear, or the field shows in the list.

It looks thru that list, no matter how large or small it is, to see if the field or class in there in the DOM, rather than checking the DOM itself.
