Thank you for the quick reply, that's another thing I love about the Hero Engine Team.

The choice to purchase the PC was was due to the options available between a dedicated PC or to partitioning out my iOS dev system. The choice was driven financially, and I was fortunate enough to purchase one of the Alienware pre-Steambox systems with specs that exceeded the Hero Engine requirements for less than the VM Ware client and hardware upgrades would have cost.

For the Student Version of Max or Maya, I understand the common usage of the Student Version of the software, but my own morals prevent me expecting future customers to pay and at the same time not pay Autodesk for the usage of their software. I have looked into other services such as Fiver. The $185 per month is the recurring fee for usage of Maya or 3Ds Max.

The time I have to dedicate to my personal project is minimal, so I would have even less time to give back to the community. If I was able to be more productive in general, I would feel more confident with participating in a Skype group or aligning myself with an artist as a coder / scripter.

I'll be keeping an eye for the announcement later, and once again appreciate the rapid response. = )

By your above post do you mean not to expect a date for implementation until later this year, or that the implementation may occur later this year?

I love Hero Engine. As a single person trying to bring a world to life it seemed like a great opportunity, especially at the $100 licensing for the cloud.

Then I realized I would have to forego my Mac, and buy a windows PC. Not a problem, have to spend money to do the things we love after all, and it was a one time cost.

I was able to go through that hurdle, and presumed the graphics side would be something I wouldn't need to worry about for a while, but still priced out Maya and 3D-Max, finding out the rental cost and the perpetual cost was prohibitive. Not being an artist, but a coder, I presumed there would be some form of a alternative cost, or a doable solution in the interim.

The only affordable solution for my purposes that I've found at present appears to be not to use Hero Engine. =/

When I view the $185 monthly requirement to produce art assets for a $100 per year license, it's like finding a top of the line luxury car for $10 a month and then finding out that the car only runs on Pure Methanol (The same fuel used in Nascaar, presently running at $10 a gallon, is high on the toxicity scale and burns at a rate that produces around 50% of the mpg of normal gasoline.)

I'm presently debating on renewal of my license this year, as the FBX implementation appeared to be coming soon when I first signed up for the engine. If the support is still 8+ months away, then as much as I love Hero Engine, I may need to start over with a different system.

With as awesome as Hero Engine is, I feel as if I shouldn't expect the program to do or support more, but the lack of being able to add models for how I learn and build is a large stumbling block for myself.

Edit: I see in another post where FBX may be added for Christmas this year? If that's the case I may renew.

For semi circles I've experimented with simply making a u-bend stream and changing the water speed to still. Seems to work in most cases, but it would be nice to not have to jump through as many hoops to do so.

I've had a recent change of employment, and as such have been moved across the country. This has been a great life change, but unfortunately meant I will be giving up the email address I had with my prior ISP.

I found the post https://community.heroengine.com/forums/index.php/topic,1642.msg8600.html#msg8600

and have followed the instructions contained therein, though am curious as to the turn around time expected.
I only ask as the present email address will only remain open for 30 days from today, so hope I'll still have the email address during the transition as I don't believe I would survive the thunder dome described in the post above.

Edit: Answer, is not very long. This was taken care of quickly. Thank you HE team. = )

I had ran into this problem with my world, come to find out I had alterred terrain in area B while in area A, so the linking was pretty bad. I simply had to delete the elements and re-add ensuring I was in the right area.

Thank goodness this isn't just me going insane.

Been working on different methods for the Character Selection and for Character Creation and wasn't able to get replication to work, so had to resort to remote calls to populate client side GUIs. I've also noticed a lot of crashes happening when switching to DOM editor, though I believe that's the resize bug causing it.

Actually, just knowing the syllabus is very helpful, and the fact it's in the Wiki is helpful as well. Simply searching "Training" in the wiki brings up some results.

Had the same issue on my AlienWare Alpha (Win 8.1) that I recently acquired, fixed by downloading the DX9 environment package from Microsoft, fixed it for me. Not sure if that will help your issue, but worth a try?

Another thing I've discovered.. you can put in a new room, make it not visible to any other rooms and then after making all of your wanted walls, even use a terrain map instead then overlay it on the room you wish to hinder.

That was more of an accidental discovery, but could be leveraged that way.

Not sure which would be better for performance reasons at present.

I agree with the above posters here. Trying to learn from watching a silent movie without any type of reasoning or explanation is akin to trying to learn Zui Quan by watching a brawl break out during happy hour.

You can do it, but it will take many mistakes, errors, and judicious use of Ctrl-Z to figure out why the actions you take do not match the actions of the silent video.

That's the exact error I was receiving. After a full uninstall and re-install of the Hero Engine programs through my system it came up. Though the initial re-connect took a while, approximately 1.5 hours.

I'm having the same issue. I am able to wake up the world, then choose to login, and eventually choose the world, but once I attempt to bring open my world, it just hangs at a black screen after the HeroEngine logo.

Edit: The reference world's also will not load, same behavior. The PC I am using is only used for Hero Engine. So not sure what's going on.

Edit #2: After many moments of waiting, the blade is finally loading. It appears that the uninstall and reinstall fix requires a much longer time for initial load than the initial install.

Quartz.d upgrade that recently occurred will require some systems to uninstall and re-install the complete program it seems for the time being. Happened to me as well.

Make sure to uninstall pretty much everything though, as I had a few HE programs still installed the first time around and it caused a fail again.

I'm new to HeroEngine developement though have experience in scripting environments as well as java, C++, and iOS  experience. My shard was recently turned up and I was excited to finally start following the wiki to see the software in action.

However, as of yesterday it appears that every wiki page is blank. When I click on view source, I can see the source, it just doesn't display under the pages themselves.

I know the wiki should work, as it was working all day Sunday, Monday and most of Tuesday while I was waiting for my server to be live.

Issue appears on multiple carriers as well as browsers. Recreated in IE 11, Chrome, iOS Chrome, and iOS Safari.

Wasn't quite sure where to post this, and search was not hitting anything relevant except for the new updates to the wiki.
