Art & Art Pipeline / Uploading Models/Assets ???
« on: Aug 07, 16, 10:53:03 AM »
Hello, Hero community I have a question regarding assets being imported to the engine I had a bunch of model that I put into 3ds max I used the Hero Export done that but they are in .HGM files and I am wanting to know can I upload those to the repository and use them in my world or do they need to be .dds files like all the other assets the engine uses ? Also, where do I put the model in the repository browser cause I don't see the asset library in the browser?

Hello, my name is Aaron Pettit, I am the CEO/Environmental Artist for Mana Ent. I am super happy to call Hero Engine our home for the development of a project we like to call "Atlas" and most of all super happy to embark on this journey with some of the greatest indie developers known to man right here in the Hero Engine Community. We love this engine, not just for its easy to use dev tools but we love the community that supports the growth of such a great asset to game development!

A little about myself,  I was born and raised in Nashville Tn. I became an Entrepreneur at the age of eighteen starting my own 3D printing software design company. With that came an opportunity to become an Investor for Nashville Investment Agency. I have invested in major corporations and brought up small businesses to high valued organizations. I have spent over seven years working with design and technology and with the launch of Mana Ent. we wanted to dive into the game development world and bring our imaginations to life. With the help of Hero Engine and its wonderful community, we will be able to achieve this and much more! I cannot wait to start working with all of you and most of all developing a life-long dream of designing and creating an immersive universe of imagination and creativity.

Thank You!
Aaron Pettit [CEO Mana Entertainment LLC.]

Hello, HE community I am having an issue for the FPS Camera I have followed the entire Tutorial and every time I put this command in the console "call fps_camera_callback startfps_camera." I receive a script error and the camera does change its viewport. This is the script error: SCRIPT ERROR: Function [STARTFPS_CAMERA.] not found in script [FPS_Camera_Callback]. I am not sure what to do and I figured someone else would know if I did something wrong here. I made a new script with this code:

 function PushAndActivateFPS_CameraLayer()
  ActivateCmdLayer("FPS_Camera", true)
function DeactivateFPS_CameraLayer()
  ActivateCamera( "GAME" )
function SetupFPS_Camera()
  camera as NodeRef = AddCamera("FPS_Camera")
  character as NodeRef = GetPlayerCharacterNode()
  character_position as Vector3
  GetNodePosition( character, character_position )
  SetCameraPosition( "FPS_Camera", character_position )
  character["Render"] = false
  SetCameraFollow( "FPS_Camera",character )
  SetCameraOffset( "FPS_Camera", 0.0 )
  FreeLook( "FPS_Camera", true )
  ActivateCamera( "FPS_Camera")
function onmouseleaveviewport()
  println("Left viewport in fps_camera")
function OnMouseClick(lmb as Boolean, rmb as Boolean, mmb as Boolean, mb4 as Boolean, mb5 as Boolean) as Boolean
  return false
function onMouseMove(mx as Integer, my as Integer, dx copies Integer, dy copies Integer) as Boolean
  println("Moving the mouse")
  if (GetTweakableBoolean("GameInvertMouseX")) or $INPUT._InputGameInvertMouseX
    dx = dx * -1
  if (not GetTweakableBoolean("GameInvertMouseY")) and ( not $INPUT._InputGameInvertMouseY )
    dy = dy * -1
  fx as Float = dx
  fy as Float = dy * -1
  if $INPUT._InputGameMouseSensitivity > 0
    fx = fx * $INPUT._InputGameMouseSensitivity
    fy = fy * $INPUT._InputGameMouseSensitivity
  camera as NodeRef = GetActiveCamera()
  return true
function StartFPS_Camera()

Again I have no idea what I did wrong in the script for the console to give me this error and not change my viewport.

Design & World Building / Re: Graphic Animation Question
« on: Aug 17, 13, 10:47:32 PM »
What do you recommend to use to implement graphics like those in Hero Engine ?

The majority of it would be down to your model makers and the textures they used - the rest would be custom shaders and tweaking the environmental lighting to suit your goal.

Are their any programs or software you recommend for it ?

Hello, my name is Aaron im kinda interested but i have one main question and that is on Communication. Developers that i have seen lately lack a sort of Communication. In order to be passionate about your Position within a indie Game company you must be able to co verse with the rest of the team otherwise alot of work/detail and or lack of activity will be lost. Now I have had a team Called NXT Entertainment we were developing a mmorpg but we didn't have a big group plus money was short and much more... I would like to learn more could you guys supply maybe an portfolio or maybe a skype that i could contact for service ?
if so that would be pretty cool.

Thank you.
