I haven't tried directly mapping the joypad to buttons yet will need to experiment with it.

We use a remappable key binding system though. And when remapping our key bindings pressing the joypad doesn't seem to register.

Hey guys,

One thing I've noticed is that I (and reports from others) am unable to bind my joypad to any of the key bindings in game. I notice in the build notes though that it does mention joystick support, see joystick button support at least, and I also notice XInput support in Sapphire. Is there something special that needs to be done here? Or is joypad support broken at the moment?

It should come preinstalled with the cache so they don't have to load much. However, we have had a couple of reports where users had long load in times. A solution is stickied in the forums there. In those occasions what seems to have happened is the cache didn't preinstall for some reason.

I'm pretty sure they will update on live servers. I've seen ours building after a patch.

It would be great if we could see this make it in way in game at some point. It's pretty noticeable when the music cuts when you go across a seam. Though in most cases of other sounds you may want that to be the case.

I have to agree with the others here. For a world map you really need to have pre-rendered textures and a coordinate system. We did experiment with doing it before, by piecing together several minimaps. In that version you could see the area you were in and the neighbors. The problem with that approach is we wound up having big blocks of minimap coming in at a time. It's far better imo to use prebuilt textures, then navigate through them using coordinates. You can of course create a system to rip out the generated maps for each area and then use those. But in general you'd probably want to touch them up with something to break up the texture repetition on terrain, etc.
