This problem has been around for a while but I kept forgetting to report it. From the FX editor you often want to have the Caster set to yourself and the Target to Selection. But the Target as selection doesn't actually work properly. It does give the destination at a target so the FX will show up, but instead of aiming at your target it aims at a spot near you on the ground. This makes testing some effects difficult.

Ah-ha. Okay yeah that is the problem. I was running it through the chat console. The whole time I was wondering how it would know which library resource it was attached to, but assumed it would know when it was set later.

Thanks a bunch.

I guess a better question would be: Can we confirm that /heseamless is still functional in the current build?

Scripting & Programming / [Resolved] /heseamlesslink

I've been trying to get a Seamless 1.0 connection set up, and doing the tutorial here: http://hewiki.heroengine.com/wiki/Seamless_Area_Link_Tutorial as a base.

But I am having a problem with the /heseamless command. My input looks like this:

Code: [Select]
/heseamlesslink LIBRARY #spec='1' ?GUIDS='$GUIDS' ?link='1' ?trigger='6'
I've followed the tutorial more or less exactly except using our own assets, and have attempted to do this several times over the past few days. But I always get the following error:

The ?statefulObject token had an integer value(6) which I understand to mean is an index in the $GUIDS list of nodes created, but the value exceeds the length of that list.

Any ideas?

Scripting & Programming / [Resolved] Changing Archetype
« on: Jul 18, 10, 12:45:46 AM »
I was looking for a way to switch a classes Archetype. I entered in a number of classes as data where they should have been guicontrols. I don't see any way to change the archetype though once its been set other than deleting the class. However, once the class is referenced by other fields, and other classes, all referencing one another this becomes a headache of needing to go through and change many other areas (any other class that referred to a field that referenced that class, or any other class that was a child of that class).

Is there a way to switch an archetype currently? If not this is something I'd recommend adding the ability to do this (either from CLI or the DOM Editor) in the future.

SOLVED: The documentation for MCD on the wiki does not mention this, but you can modify the DOM by using the mcd command.

example: |mcd <classname>; archetype="guicontrol"
