Hi everyone, I am the leader of Battlelegion, we are not an official company, so I don't want to call myself the owner or CEO. Anyways, I am here to talk about Vengeance online. Here is the planning sheet I made. Still working on it, but it allows me to base some ideas off of it. So, here it is.

I. Main storyline.
   Many kingdoms of Bironia have shattered at the might of the two major factions. These factions are each unique in fighting styles, with similar government, but, completely different people. The story of the Savaryan tribe begins on the eastern edge of Bironia, where their future king started a revolution against the Lokryonians. He destroyed the faction, leaving its people and cities in his command. Meanwhile the future Queen of Kinslavia is recruiting mercenaries. She is going to fight with the country of Basington in the war of Miclonia. Towards the end of the battle, the king is shot in the chest.
       The queen saved the king, in turn, the king decided to give her a piece of land to start her own country, as this is what she most desired. This brought up the two greatest leaders known as Julia Kinslavia, and Joseph Livingston. The war between them will decide all of our futures, who will you fight for?

II. Weapons.
   Muskets, swords, pistols, daggers, pikes, spears, bows, crossbows, cannons (deploy and un-deploying as well as re-loading takes time, which balances it out.).
     No, their will be no magic!

III. Factions.

   You will be able to play under the flags of the two major factions, there are a few other factions, but you mainly come across them in quests. The playable factions are:

Kinslavia.
Savarya.

Iv. Release Date.   
Unknown, but hopefully some time in 2013.
I do hope to have a beta in late 2012 though.

V. Levels
So far, the plan is Level 1 - 50.

VI. Faction Colors
Savarya - Red
Kinslavia - Green

So, their will be NO magic as you read, which I find interesting, as it opens and closes many opportunities for game play. Such as hack and slash combat, which is what I would like to have. I would like to set up a really good inventory system, as it is probably the most important part of the game for the way I want to set it up. Pretty much, if you have any ranged weapon, so a crossbow, you can right click to zoom in your weapon. When a ranged weapon is equipped, and you are zoomed in, a cross hair pops up so you can aim, and when you hold the left mouse button, a cross hair will fade in, and when you release you shoot. To reload you will simple press the reload key, which will be "r". With melee weapons, it will be different, you can't zoom in, and no cross hairs magically pop up. Melee may sound under powered, but, when it takes 3-4 shots to kill another player, and the one of the 2 melee classes can stealth, and the other is a tank with mass amounts of health, therefore taking 5 and depending on armor 6 shots to kill. It should be fair. So, the classes now. Their will be 2 ranged and two melee.

Knight - melee tank, takes and much damage, and helps his group survive.  
Thief - goes into a stealth mode and kills his enemies from any direction he'd like, though they must be cautious, as all thieves can see each other.

Musketeer - A long ranged killer, dedicated to his shots, and has a very strong aura, though be warned, a musketeer's armor is very weak, leaving him vulnerable.

 The Mercenary - A mercenary wields both short swords and pistols, and if he chooses so, a musket, he does very much damage, but similar to the musketeer, his armor is weak, leaving him vulnerable.

Now, I can't make all this alone now can I? Yes, you guessed correctly  ;) I cannot! So, can anyone fill these spots?

         Hsl Scripter
         Organic modeler
         Concept artist
         Prop / building modeler.
         Animator
         World builders, who will work with me directly.
         And texture designers.

hmm... I like the idea of a world without magic. But, will you have any kinds of poisons? Would you be able to modify your weapons and ammo .. like poison a dagger, or make a burning arrow? Will there be any thrown weapons like throwing knives or maybe even spears?

And the classes ... it kinda feels like a medic could be good. From your description it doesn't seem like any of those classes has some sustain. I mean .. you take damage and your health stays the same until you die? (or maybe eat some food, use potion or wait until it regenerates)

I like the ideas of thieves being able to see each other ;)

So many people making the jump from RC to HeroEngine. Please make sure that you know what you are doing... Realm Crafter Professional doesn't even come close to the complexity of HeroEngine. It took me another year and a half, with Esenthel Engine in between, to finally make the leap to HeroEngine.

I'm "dwight" on the RC forums.

I also used RC first (in the times when RC Professional wasn't even released in beta) :)

Not for long though (I probably never posted anything on forums there) ... mostly because at that time, my project was a one-man-show and I wasn't even 100% sure how my game should work. Now I have some people willing to work with me so it's gonna be better ... and I also have most of the game design figured out now.

Thanks. I plan on adding a healing class, I am glad you mentioned that, I am just not quite sure how to go about it. Like, would a spell for it be called "bandage up. But, it would probably be better to just use potions or food, and an smart regen script, like when in combat, and 2-3 seconds after combat, don't regen, and after, regen quickly but not to quickly. I guess its something I have to talk over with the team.

You don't need to have a healing class if you can make it work with some food / potions and fast off-combat regeneration. I can't really imagine a healing class suitable for your game right now ... I'm used to games with magic :D And having a class with multiple bandage options seems somewhat strange.. and what else besides a bandage could you use ... syringe? But I'm looking forward to your solution to this :)

Btw ... if I ever play your game I would choose to fight for Julia Kinslavia (in case you make her look very beautiful ofc :P)

Thanks, I can't see a class either. I like the fast regen off combat and food, but for one of the professions, bandaging. Bandaging will be a very important part of the game, but some people may find other things more suitable, and just use food.

Made a video, kind of crappy, just a terrain re-do, as I hated the last one I made, I decided to replace every model I made with more detailed models as well, as I don't like them, they are terrible and I am gonna start taking more time to detail these models. Here is the link even still... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2h12Zwz2ANM Its got out first intro (will be more work on it of course) in the beginning. Here is a dock I made for the new map, which you will see when I post pics.


If any scripter wants to help, let me know, we need you! If no scripter does join I may need to hire one to get some interface done, cause I really want that fixed up.

EDIT: Ok, I got the model textured and imported. Got to fix some scaling on the textures, then it should be good to go. Here is some pics of it and a work in progress blacksmith's shop.











EDIT: Completely re-did the dock, looks much much better, also added some finishing touches to that map, looks absolutely amazing, can't wait to show some pics, went out with my camera on a texture trip, taking pics of grass rocks, trees, logs, sidings, etc... Got lots of textures to supply my game dev fires for a while, which also made the terrain, I am going to change Savarya around, as that is a city, I want the name for that faction to be different, not sure what it will be yet though. Again, if anyone wants to help, add me one skype!

More Edits: Textured up the dock. Or the base of the dock, I want to add some extra details such as  barrels, a hanging shark, and maybe a fishing pole hanging against the supports. This needs some details cause you will grab some quests there :D

Ok, here comes some screenshots. Replaced the default dynamic grass.

Made a new building, will not include interior, the dock will, but I don't have that yet.



Ok, now I will show you some of the changes I made to the map. Such as the mountains, textures and I filled in all places that needed water.













I still have the default blue flowers and yellow grass as well as the trees in there, but those should be gone soon :D
By the way, I need scripters, please come help scripters!

You are going to personally fill up the forums disk space with screens. :-)
This post is identical to your other post in tell us about you, please keep to the board descriptions. And don't make me reinstate the limit on number and sizes of screens posted. Try to be discerning, and use the screens that really show off your game. Like do you really need the last 5 shots of just the side of a mountain with tiled terrain textures?

I know it's exciting to get a new engine, but let's try to really impress people with your screens. Maybe take a look at HJ Ref and how the buildings and rocks are modeled there and strive to really knock some assets out of the park, then show them off to folks.

Ok. If I have something important to show I will make a video, if its something I don't think the public will see I will make a video and list it as private so you can only see it with a link. I will steer clear of the screens.
