[Resolved] How to Install Hero Engine on S: Drive
« on: Dec 31, 11, 04:41:25 PM »

I want to install Hero Blade and repository browser on my S Drive instead of my C Drive.  I was able to install the Auto Launcher on my S drive, but the Hero Blade stilll installs to C and doesn't give me an option to choose the installation directory.

When previously people had asked about getting the local repository cache installed in a different location, it came down to the install program using a standard path assigned by Windows that states where program data goes.  I have not looked into this, but there is perhaps a Windows setting that will make a different drive be the default location to install things.  Most likely that would be the only way to do it.

By the way, did you used to be on the Torque forums?

That is correct

Due to Windows security and UAC, regardless of whether you are a local administrator, HeroBlade must be installed to program files and program data system paths.

Cheers

Thanks for the info.  I guess I'll just leave it on C then

@ScottZarnke

I've been on LOTS of forums, but I don't recall doing anything significant on the Torque forums. ;)

Ha-me, too, as far as forums.  Prior to adopting HeroCloud we used Torque and I just thought that picture looked familiar.
