Announcing Awesomium Web-UI for the HeroCloud!

We are very excited to announce that we've integrated the Awesomium Web-UI Framework into the HeroCloud platform.

Awesomium is a complete web/web language/browser framework. It's the tool HeroCloud developers will use to create in game stores and microtransactions for their games. We've provided an entire framework to access in game currency and digital downloads, and all of the billing methods provided by Visa Playpan.

Phase 2 of the Awesomium publish to the HeroCloud will allow developers to make use of all of the power and flexibility of common tools like Flash and Javascript and HTML within the HeroEngine. Developers will be able to create in game UI and interactions, as well as run browser windows and access the web within their games. Awesomium is quickly becoming the tool of choice for cutting edge developers, and it's a big part of our engine overhaul and the race to HeroEngine 2.0.

We're really excited that we can finally announce this.

For Sapphire, we're using Awesomium for a number of features including in-game billing and store support.

After Sapphire, we'll be releasing supporting functionality to allow all developers to use all the standard web technologies including HTML, JavaScript, and Flash / ActionScript in their UI.

And, as Cooper said, we'll be rolling out more specifics as we move forward through Sapphire and following updates.
