[Resolved] Animate a round bottle filling in UI
« on: Apr 27, 12, 09:50:56 AM »

Hi

Im rather stuck with GUI animations, cant figure out how to make an animation like as if a round bottle was filling up, ever played diablo 1 or 2 or 3 :P? The built in interpolate just squishes the image into size, i need to cut it into size.

How would i go about animating the blob? I thought of animating an alpha map, or something, im not sure how to go at the problem.

Anyone's insights are welcome :)
Dont laugh at my paint skills :(

To do what diablo does with filling up the circle, you could simply set up the red filler to have a mask that was the circle, then animate the red moving up and it will only appear within its mask. If that's what you're asking.

The properties panel in the GUI editor has a material as mask field in the top section.

Aaah yeah, that should work! Thanks a lot :D gonna try doing that next.
Moving the blob out of sight is much easier then actualy changing its shape during animation.
