[Resolved] Controller Analog stick input
« on: Jul 27, 12, 11:52:37 PM »

Hey,

I have been trying to get my ps3 controller mapped on my game. I have tried JOYSTICK.1 - JOYSTICK.16, but neither one is for the analog. It will map all the buttons except the analog and directional pad. I am assuming it will have to be done with heroscript due to the fact that the analogs are mapped, -x, -y, +x, and +y, rather than a number. Am I correct, or is there another way?

Thanks

From the "News" section on future releases...

Sapphire

The next major release will be Sapphire.

While we don't have a specific date yet, we expect it to be available in the short term.

Among the features and changes in the HeroEngine Sapphire release:
  • Requires: Shader Model (SM) 3.0 or higher
  • Large address aware client, and certain server processes
  • SpeedTree 6
  • Custom, configurable shader support
  • Improved default shadows (which you can always rewrite if you want)
  • Localization
  • XInput for gamepad, joystick, steering wheel, etc input support
So when you get Speedtree 6 you also get built-in joystick functionality.  8)
