Adding a field to a class error in the CLI
« on: Jan 14, 13, 11:47:20 AM »

I'm getting an error when trying to associate my field with the new class:

10:41:00: MCDAF "IPopUp"; "toggleIPopUp"
10:41:00: SYSTEM:System:{NONE} ERROR 0 : "Parser Error: unknown command"

I have the client field created, and the client class created.

Any ideas?

It looks like you forgot to add the "|".

Commands sent to this location make changes to the DOM definitions on this server. This server is the authoritative source for all client-side DOM definitions information, as well as handling client-side scripts

You shouldn't need to use the CLI to add a field to a class though. Using the DOM editor is much easier.

Thank you for the reply.  I'm actually doing your tutorial learning GUI's and interfacing them with buttons and icons.

Is there a good place you can point me too that shows me how to do this via the DOM editor?

I've gone through the couple of basic HSL tutorials.  I'm brand spank'n new to coding.  So sorry if this is a basic question.

Thank you so much for the assistance.  :)

To use commands the | is used for client side and \ for server side.  http://hewiki.heroengine.com/wiki/Cli
example->  |MCDAF "IPopUp"; "toggleIPopUp"

The DOM makes it easier to add fields and parents to the classes, while CLI commands are good for removing them.

You can use the DOM editor to remove fields, and parent classes too.
