[Resolved] jump animation
« on: Jan 26, 13, 07:17:21 PM »

Hey folks.. having some problems trying to get a jump animation to work well..

Without using any animation, the character jumps as expected: standing still, they jump in place... moving forward.. they jump forward... moving backwards.. they jump backwards...

However.. as soon as I create a jump animation - I have to animate the movement of the jump... does that mean i need to create separate jump animatinos for each direction?

With the default character controller, all motion of the character while jumping is handled by the controller. So, no, you don't need separate animations for each direction.

When I add a jump animation with no movemnt, the character just jumps in place regardless of movement - does this mean I need to modify the controller, or should this work with the standard implementation?

Hmmm, that is a little surprising, but yes, you should look at modifying the controller.
