Question regarding final release
« on: Mar 21, 13, 11:27:59 AM »

1: How much does hosting the server on the cloud for open beta cost?
2: How much does hosting the server on the cloud for final release cost?
3: How come must games dont reach final release?

If you more or less know the answer to any of this question please answer it. Im expecting 500-1000 players on open beta for sure. Release im not sure. SO give me a best guess.

The HeroCloud takes 30% of your revenue, and uses it to cover operational costs. If your operational costs exceed 20% of your gross profits beyond your 30 day launch window, then you would have to cover the additional costs if you wanted to expand your project.

"3: How come must games dont reach final release?"

There are a number of reasons. Some people are not committed to the amount of time it will take to complete a full MMO project. Some might be missing key people on their teams. Some might be just checking out what the engine can do. Some are just here to learn and have fun, not wanting to make a project. Some lack funds to continue working. Some don't fully understand parts of game making and just give up.
