Starting the simple lobby system example
« on: Aug 29, 13, 01:58:58 PM »

I am trying to understand how to make the lobby system appear during a play instance.

Ideally we'd like for this to happen after character selection is complete and before our level is loaded. I've read through the lobby system example here: http://wiki.heroengine.com/wiki/Lobby_System but I am still not sure how those examples are run, and where the scripts should reside in the DOM.

If someone is able to walk through how to get the example lobby system to appear on screen, that would be incredibly helpful.

Thanks

About half way down that page link, is a section that might put the lobby on screen. I have not worked with this particular area, though I have put many GUIs on screen.

Example

The following HSL will create a new logical lobby directory, then create a new lobby beneath it.
Code: [Select]
method MyMainMethod()
  //Sequence of events is as follows:
  // 1. call _MyCreateLogicalLobbyDirectory to request the creation of a logical lobby directory
  // 2. wait for a callback in EventRaised of type 'LLD_CREATE_SUCCEEDED'; respond by calling _MyCreateLobby
  // 3. wait for a callback in EventRaised of type 'L_CREATE_SUCCEEDED'; respond by printing "Success!"
  me._MyCreateLogicalLobbyDirectory("My Logical Lobby Directory")
.

I think the issue I'm facing is that I'm not sure where that piece of code would go. Would it be in a custom script I make? Does that script need to be GLOMed to $_LOBBY if not, where do I call the script from? Should I be modifying an existing script?

Thanks again.
