Tartarus Season 1 - Invasion
« on: Sep 27, 13, 07:09:26 PM »

Before we get to the specifics a poem by our writer extraordinaire RachMart:

The Return

An orb in the center of it all.
An orb called Earth.
Its inhabitants forever sheltered
By the embrace of the Olympian gods.
Through struggle and strife man has overcome,
The orb’s craters and calamities.

Now,
The pursuit of discovery beckons man from his orb.
And further into the depths of what should have remained unknown.
With the veil of the night lifted, man has trespassed upon the Gods’ greatest secret.
Tartarus.

It was neither a plane nor hellish hole, but an orb like Earth.
And on its surface speckled the children of the ones before.
The spawn of the Titans.
They gazed up from their smoldering orb and gazed upon the only enemies they’d ever known.
White lights shown about as their rocky forms animated and assembled with purpose.

They come for the earthen people with hatred steaming from their bodies.
With overwhelming strength and numbers they begin their toppling of mankind.
In this despair man turns to the Gods once more.
He sees that they have abandoned their divine perch.
Where have they gone?

Written by Rachel Martin

I have been tracking a group of the titan spawn for about a week now. What I’ve learned is that they divide themselves into tribes based on their given ancestor who also serves as their being of worship. The priest serves as the leader of the tribe. A religious warlord. Judging by their appearance, this is certainly related to Mother Gaia. They carry her signature moss on their bodies. Although Mother Gaia was peaceful in her life, her descendants are quite the opposite. I got too close the other day and lost my left eye. I forget how fragile a mortal body can be.

Dammit all! Even down here I get the shit end of the stick. Do I look like a fucking funeral home? I don’t think I do. Everybody just loves starting wars. Some even get stiff over ‘em. They just gotta keep my hands busy don’t they? I know they’re scared of me and they damn well should be. But handing me all the dirty work is anything but a solution to their little problem with me. They’re just a bunch of lazy asses they are. At least the titan-spawn know how to get things done. Pretty simple when they only know how to do one thing: kill everyone. I can assure you, they’re quite good at it.

-Hades Data Journal 7

Here they come down the mountainside.~

The titan spawn with hardened hide.~

I cannot breathe the air they stifle.~

Lucky my sister has a sniper rifle.~

“Brother please! I require silence when I hunt. Titan spawn only have so many weak spots. My aim must be precise.”

“Forgive me, Sister. Please understand how boring this is for me. We’ve been out here for days picking off titan spawn one by one without seeming to make a dent in that mob of a campsite. At least let me compose a song based on this riveting battle.”

“That’s not how the hunt works, Brother. There is no glorious battle. Just the skill of the kill.”

   “Sounds like music to me.”

Just wanted to post some rough concept art.

This first one is by Tom Williams.

It is the rough sketch of the final two concepts for Dionysus or Diode.

Check him out here!
