rain and wind at higher altitudes
« on: Dec 15, 13, 01:14:11 AM »

I have noticed that the rain and wind fx don't work at higher altitudes (when you are not close to the heightmap). I can see the rain, but it is way below me. Can this be fixed?

That seems strange, as from what I've read, the rain effects are attached to the camera.

The default rain exists above terrain relative to character position on the terrain.

A little bit cryptic answer ;), but would it be correct to conclude that the default rain won't work if you have your characters flying?

In Cooper's other tutorial, he shows how to override the weather system, and actually hook up the rain to the camera. The default weather is relative to the heightmaps, and not the camera. And so, if you character is flying too high, he is flying on top of the rain.

You will just be adding an FX trigger to your environmental settings to make it work for your needs.
