Stomplab here, checking in
« on: Jan 29, 14, 10:09:24 PM »

Hello everyone!

Where to start? First my name is David or Dave, which ever you prefer. I use Stomplab in most games and forums and typically go by the NN of Stomp. I live in Northern Louisiana (Bossier City) and have decided to try my hand at creating a full length game with a strong development tool.

I've worked with other environments in the past such as Torque, RealmCrafter, UDK, Cry, Unity and TGC products and I very familiar with 3ds Max, Blender3D, Photoshop and various terrain generating solutions. Back when I first starting developing games (2005) I had grand ideas but little "know-how" to get it done or at least to a point that I envisioned. I did release a demo called "Darkest Hour" but it was dated well before it was released. I believe there was a AAA game with the same titled released just after I released my demo. It was pure coincidence.

Here is a video of the demo just before it was released:

I am a huge supporter of indie game design and find myself supporting companies through kickstarter campaigns, purchasing software and generally giving forum support when and where I can. I do this even if I don't use the software that I purchase for my main development tools. I know this may sound foolish but Indies have to help each other, that has always been my opinion.

I have held multiple positions on various dev teams such as, author, non organic 3D asset creation, 2D texture artist, web developer, project management and animator (non organic).

I don't have a development team together at the moment. I'm kind of kicking back and learning the engine and it's quirks before I try and assemble a team. It would do no good at this point to bring a team online and not be able to answer the basic questions that future team members may have.

With all that said, I am glad to be here. Seems that the community is strong and the HE team is very active and communicate very well with the community.

Oh, I spent almost 13 yrs in the military as an aircraft mechanic so my style of writing is a bit mechanical and I tend to ramble on and on and on... much like I am doing now :) , I apologize for that, it's kind of engrained in me at this point.

Cheers!
