New HE user questions - World setup
« on: Feb 22, 14, 07:47:39 AM »

Hi everybody!

I have some questions and I would be very grateful if you guys could help me.

1. I'm trying to create new area with a custom size but I do not find that option, I want all my areas to be 128x128 instead of 32x32. Where can I find this? I have tryed to change it in the "inspector box" but it won't let me. Im going to link these up with seamless 2.

2. I'm trying to find out how to setup a 3D isometric camera for gameplay that follows the character. I have found nothing about this sofar. I'm aming for the same camera function as they have in Albion Online: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EuQawY8nf4

An good example of what I need in terms of tutorial:
http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/CameraTechnicalGuide.html#Example Isometric Camera
ofcourse any other information is very helpful.

These are the main issues I will have to solve before I can move on with my Project.

Thank you

in the terrain panel look for the button marked "create grid" to create larger height map sections

the isometric camera (and probably movement system) will require some moderate scripting , although should be no different to setting up any camera system , you will just need to work out the maths of where you want your camera offset to be. There are some examples of camera systems in FPS reference , the wiki , and in the tutorials section of the forum
