Hackers attack Hearthstone
« on: Jan 02, 15, 09:16:02 PM »

One of our members brought this to my attention which others might want to consider if streaming games via Twitch or something similar.

http://www.dailydot.com/esports/amaz-firebat-archon-pinnacle-ddos/?fb=es

The summary is that a Hearthstone tournament was being streamed on Twitch and hackers were using DDoS attacks to interfere with the games as soon as they saw them being broadcast.

Grrr.  I hate hackers.  >:(

worse part is DDOS isn't something that takes any hacking to do. An 8th grader can pull off successful DDoS attacks.

And with things like tor adding to the "apparent" ease of hiding. really not hidden as much as some people think, they are. Open city wifi networks with large bandwidth and little logging, etc. It's only going to get worse till it gets better.

It's also hard top stop for this kind of thing, as a public tournament needs to inform people when it's being held.
