Hi!

I'm using paint.net to work with dds. So for terrain and materials i should be using dxt5 from what i understood.
Which of these options are the best for terrain, and which for materials?

Which DXT compression you choose depends on your content:
DXT1 - no alpha
DXT3 - explicit alpha
DXT5 - interpolated alpha

MIPmapping should usually be enabled for everything EXCEPT ui textures.  However, there are exceptions either way.

I can't comment on the rest because I don't know how paint.net interprets them

Cheers

I ended up using these settings and the problem vent away.

Although i still see some wierd jaggediness, aliasing-like effect on the sharp edges of the heightmaps, but i should prolly create a separate thread for that.
