as I leave my usable character for the hero engine?
« on: Jul 05, 15, 05:18:23 PM »

my character is in .fbx and animations are all separate.
= walk.fbx example, run.fbx, turnleft.fbx and others ..
how do I join all and transform in .hgm or .gr2 to run the hero engine?

The only programs that currently can export the HeroEngine format (.hgm) are Autodesk 3ds Max and Maya.

this is my actor with animations = http://prntscr.com/7p8xhn

these are the files from my main actor ... so I put him in the hero engine, I have to convert all or .hgm to have to transform all in just one .hgm file?

Someone else will have to respond. I do not have any experience at exporting characters.

You need to use either 3DS Max or Maya Hero Export Tools. I use 3DS Max, so to export to HGM you:
1. The actual character mesh needs the SRB created. In Max there is a drop down box with Hero Character Tools, which will have a 1-click option to create SRB. Once your character skeleton/bones has the SRB added, you can export it with the Hero Exporter.
http://hewiki.heroengine.com/wiki/Static_Characters_Tutorial is a good place to start.

2. In Hero Export there is also Animation Tools, mainly you want to have one animation in your timeline and export it as VDA animation. Then load the next animation in your timeline and do the same.

Sorry this is not very detailed, but I am in a hurry at the moment. :)
