Hmm, i don't seem to have the problem with those textures you posted Sarrene. Although the model seems a bit washed out... What did you do? Increased brightness?

I played around a little after I removed and saved yours with no mips. Then I re saved with mips again.

Bennett actually found the problem, and quite quickly. He found that your mips are all dark/black minus the glow map. So the issue was in the texture itself.

I can easily darken the one again no problem for you.

For Normals: Take a look at Crazy Bump: http://www.crazybump.com/
There is a free trial, and the cost is relatively low.

EDIT: I am not sure about this programme, but it is one someone suggested at one of the dev sites:

nvidia also has a way to process mip maps via using scripts and a command line tool. Its one of their older options before they really just focused on building plug-ins for things.

Still works though is free and not too horrible to deal with once you get hand of the settings.
If you get hard pressed for a mip tool.

GIMP is very close to Photoshop and is free.
http://www.gimp.org/
It can create Mip Maps as long as the original image is in powers of 2, which is pretty much the standard anyhow.
