Double file extension : *.hgm.hgm
« on: Aug 29, 15, 11:34:00 AM »

I can't give you a repro on this as it happens randomly no matter what I've tried.

This has been happening with the HE exporter for 3dsMax since I started this project.

When exporting a model from 3DSMax, the resulting file will have an additional ".hgm" tacked onto it IF its an existing file and you're overwriting it.

The one SURE way to prevent it is to make sure that after you select the existing file, remove the ".hgm" from the save file name by backspacing etc and hitting Enter.

This method does not prompt you for permission to overwrite however so make sure you're overwriting the right file before hitting Enter/Clicking save.

Thanks

Cool Deal.

Mind you it's not a big problem, but can be confusing sometimes if you upload what you think is a new file and nothing happens  ::)  (because you uploaded the wrong one, the right one having the extra extension)

It "may" have something to do with double clicking an existing file to overwrite , rather than selecting/clicking the okay/save button in the export dialogue.

Thanks

Just a note:

This may be fixed, I have tried to repro it several times lately and it seemed to work fine now.
(even when double clicking the name of a file to overwrite)

I used to have that happen to me too, but I haven't seen it in a year.
