My name is James and I was searching for an engine for an indie development for my game idea. I started using RealmCrafter, but HeroEngine may be my choice, since RC is pretty much dead now. Please forgive the questions. if they have been answered, please point me to the solutions before I take the plunge.

1. Banking System (any MMORPG has one). Is this included or can it be scripted.

2. Installers. I have Setup Factory from IndigoRose. Will this work?

3. Serial Numbers (created with Setup Factory). Can the account management system include serial numbers for installation?

I will ask more as they come to me. I will be searching these forums as well.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Hero Engine can create pretty much any game and game system therein that you could possibly want or think of. From single player (even though it would require online connection) to muliplayer and MMO. It specialises in MMO creation and has all the networking and server stuff handled for you from day 1.

1 - This is not included, but is easily created. We have one on our game where players can store their items for later use or whatever.

2 - As to installers, once and if you reach the stage where you need to create installers for public release, you will work closely with the HE development team to build these from your game files. As to development instals, it is a simple case of downloading a small file and installing your game files on your computer. You then start it up and enter your username and password to log onto your development world. As HE is a cloud based development system, downloads and instals are small and minimal. This means you do not need nightly builds or other troublesome stuff when working on a team with multiple developers.

3 - Yes, again you would work with the HE team to figure out the best way of distributing your game and any codes once you get to public testing and release.
