Faxion Online
« on: Aug 31, 11, 01:54:40 PM »

Faxion Online is a PvP centric free to play fantasy MMO. It has an art style that everyone might not love, but is unique, and attempts to take open PvP to interesting new levels. Sadly, it's being shutdown by its new parent company having never really taken off. But it launched successfully, which is more than many online games can say. And 17 Developers made it in only 15 months from start to finish which is a pretty amazing accomplishment for a huge feature complete MMO.

And the Faxion servers are officially offline. Sad, it had some great potential.

Did they even provided a logical explanation on why they discontinued the game dev?

it looks like they pretty much had it going good.

So were they on the cloud or did they actually purchase the source?

As Heinlein says via "To Sail the Sunset", the answer to any question that begins with "Why don't they" can be boiled down to "Money" in some fashion or condition.

If I recall correctly, they used a source code license.
