We have some videos on YouTube from when we went to GDC.  We've been so busy with Production that we haven't had time to produce a new gameplay trailer.  We'll be getting something done shortly to show the updates we've done lately - there's a lot!

It looks really great guys. What I am really curious to see is how did you do to put this in an online world. I mean, in the gameplay videos the player plays alone, as in a standalone game and it has everything a TGC player would want to see. Nice card art, strategy and slow paced gameplay. I would also rate the music as A++, it really matches the style of the game. But when it comes to online play, I really want to see how to interact a lot of players in the same board because one of the flaws of turn-based systems in MMOs is that players bore to death waiting for other players to make their moves.
I look forward to see more of this game, it looks very interesting.

Thanks for the feedback!

As with any turn-based game, keeping it interesting for players when not their turn is definitely one of the challenges we're facing.  Some of the inspiration comes from how people play turn-based games in real life: people spend their times socializing, which will be part of it, and also strategizing for their next move, which will be part as well.

Also, there are a number of approaches we are exploring regarding time limit options.  Drawing from the world of chess, there are many variations used to speed up play there such as a limit to total time to play the game or time for making a move or taking a complete turn.  Having a situation where the quicker you make your moves, the more pressure that puts on the opponents creates a very interesting dynamic and adds to the competitiveness.  We think players will really respond to using time as a weapon.

Yes, I think you face a tough challenge with that. I assume the PvP will be restricted to 1vs1 because if not I guess even if you implement anything, it will be boring for those waiting (Just imaining a battle of 10 guys).

I have played chess too and yes, there are many options to force players to go faster, turn limits, total battle limits, total + add more time per move... but these are all for 1vs1 battles. Look forward to see more of this game.

@ RM-Hreyes:  Actually our PvP is not 1v1, though that option is available.  We currently have 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3.  There are some methods we are using as Scott had mentioned, and there are others we will be heavily testing, including a "Two Headed Giant" method of all players on a team going at the same time.  As a CCG fan though, we would love you hear more of your thoughts on what you would want and would expect to see!  Feel free to contact us anytime, either through these forums or email @ david.staats@foreverinteractive.com.  Alternatively, feel free to join our Official forums to discuss the game.

And now onto the update.  As you may have seen, we have been extremely busy polishing up our character models, and our bosses are no different!  We have just finished our boss, Grendal, and we are happy to show the final result here!

First, here is the older character design and model:

And now, the new one we just finished!

I wouldn't think it is the same character if you did not say :) It definitely is an improvement.

I will follow this project closely.

LOTS of really fun things coming down the pipeline!  I'll share more soon, but for now, here's a sneak peak at one of our current characters in it's conceptual stage!

Enjoy!

Yet another character update!

The Spawn of Fenris is one of the first bosses encountered by the players, so we revisited him to make him a little more intimidating than before!  Here's the old, followed by the new.

We have a lot more coming down still, so stay tuned.

Here's a better image of the new Spawn, as well as a cleaned up and slightly redesigned Bog Slave.
